Sherlock Holmes Fanfiction Course
This Sherlock Holmes fanfiction course inspires students to create their own stories based off Sherlock books, television shows, and movies. Read about the course here or visit YourEnglishDetective to see elements of the course on the student-facing site.
Academic Vocabulary
This project began in 2010 as a set of weekly online quizzes (formerly hosted at theacademicword.org). The vocabulary words from those quizzes were systematically presented in classroom materials and warm-up activities, following a spaced repetition model.
Life Skills Curriculum
This life skills curriculum, co-developed with Melinda Gale, was for teenage ELLs who had recently left high school. The goal was to develop their writing, computer literacy and basic math skills while helping them research housing options, find employment, and manage their money.
