Advanced English for Business
As English Curriculum Lead at Rosetta Stone, I worked with an amazing team to launch hundreds of synchronous and asynchronous business English lessons at the B1-C1 CEFR level. These included specialized courses in industries, such as oil and gas, pharmacy, and others. This product was recently renamed "Fluency Builder."
Xbox Discover Languages App
I was the curriculum lead on Rosetta Stone's free "Discover Languages" Xbox app for beginning English and Spanish learners. It offered conversation practice, vocabulary discovery, hidden reading activities, and mini-games. It won Serious Play's 2015 Silver Award.
Technology Advising
At Oregon State University, I was the Lead Technology Adviser and managed technology trainings for over 80 instructors on LMS, interactive whiteboards and more. At that time, I was invited by the U.S. State Department and AMIDEAST to train English teachers in Cyprus.
iPad Project
In 2011, my department purchased a cart of iPads, and I led a team of innovative language educators as we explored their use. Some of that work is documented in articles and presentations. Reading them now, many of the ideas seem intuitive; it's great to see the field advance!
Collaborative Writing
I am a huge proponent of collaborative writing (and collaborative work in general), but that led to my research and work with wikis when these tools were first being integrated into classes. In Germany, I used wikis to create a blended writing class.
